bright and happy!

Have you had a good weekend? I certainly did! I had 2 Stampin' parties for some really lovely hostesses and their friends, a nice walk at sunset with my darling and a BBQ on Sunday afternoon - yum yum! I must admit I am slightly pink! Oops!

So a fun bright and summery card for you guys today! Its using another new stamp set from the mini catalogue - Bright Blossoms.

Blossoms Row

Stamp Set: Bright Blossoms, Curly Cute
Ink: Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie
DSP: Brights Paper Stack
Punch: Scallop Edge
Ribbon: Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive Grosgrain Ribbon

So the flowers were stamped in a row, each in different colours just for a vibrant pop of colour! This card if nothing else, delivers colour! I added some scallop edge and rich razzleberry paper stack as a base for the flowers to sit on. For a bit more colour I added some of the grosgrain ribbon, and a sentiment!

Are you enjoying the fun colours here? Its been a while since I last cracked out some of these colours - they're bright and summery, love them!

Have a great day!

simply stampin' challenge 61

Saturday again and another challenge over at the Simply Stampin' blog. This week is a sketch, here it is...

Woven Ribbon

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand
Ribbon: Crumb Cake Taffeta

Right so I was just not inspired what so ever with this sketch. I didn't want to just follow it exactly because well I'm not really sure why to be honest. I just knew I was running out of time and hadn't done anything! So I'd had the idea of doing some sort of weaving thing and as it developed in my head I thought I could weave bits of ribbon together! Now granted this is quite a plain card but I've been enjoying the monochrome cards everyone's been making last week and decided to just run with the theme. Also, I decided that the taffeta ribbon was what I wanted to use and Crumb Cake was the only colour I had! So I've VERY loosly followed the sketch to be honest and I brought the strips that were behind to the front and the centre panel moved back. The ribbon was cut into strips and adhered to the back, it just weaves up and down through the crossing ribbons. I added a bow to finish it off! Oh and a little bit of faux stitching too!

So what do you think? Its a bit of a different card right!? I hope you like it and will play along with us over at Simply Stampin' Challenge

Have a fantastic weekend!

Happy Stampin',

Amanda xo

Oh P.S. Simply Stampin' have a Design Team feature on me this week so if you'd like to know more about me and why I'm so crazy about paper check it out! x

get more use out of a stamp!

Quick post today with a card made using the Happiness Shared stamp set I borrowed from Rhoda.

I'm hoping for another nice day today! Although if its not, I won't be too gutted as I've got lots of work to do - been too busy playing in the sunshine! Woops!

Happiness Shared Roses

Stamp Set: Happiness Shared
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Confetti White
Ribbon: Marina Mist Satin (retired)

Here's a nice way to get more use out of a stamp - using just part of the stamped image can make it look like a different image! This is great for using in a series!
This is actually the first time I've ever made a "flat bow" - its a great way to make a bow because it lays flat on the card and can be put through the post (no extra postage needed - bonus!) and no wastage either. I don't know why I haven't made any of these sooner!

more circles

Well, I think you're getting the idea that I am in love with the Circle Circus set that I borrowed a while back - I definitely created a lot within the short time I had it!

Now I think this is the card I made for my fellow design team member, Deb, for her birthday sometime last month. Sorry I can't remember exactly, April just seems SO long ago!! I still can't believe its more than half way through May already!! Madness!

Birthday Circles

Stamp Set: Circle Circus, Curly Cute
Ink: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, So Saffron, Certainly Celery
Cardstock: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Rhinestones

What I love about this set is all the pretty patterns that all work really well together and here each pattern and colour really pops. A great flat card!

I hope you enjoyed this share today!

still twitterpated!

Wow isn't the weather just glorious! I wish it would remain like this for the summer! I've been sunning myself in the garden and enjoying doing work outside and reading! Ah I love life!

Okay so today's card is pretty much an exact CASE of a card I found on pinterest, you can see the card here. It was just so pretty and seemed perfect the way it was...

Twitterpated Romance Birthday

Stamp Set: Bordering on Romance, Curly Cute, Apothecary Art
Ink: Basic Grey, Baja Breeze, Island Indigo, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Riding Hood Red
DSP: Twitterpated
Big Shot: Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelit
Accessories: Pearls

The little frame on the label is done using the Apothecary Art stamp set, just inking up the outer frame. The flowers were stamped, coloured with the stampin' write markers and then cut out for more dimension. I added one simgle little flower by the sentiment to balance the card. The scallop trim is using one of the new edgelits - isn't it pretty with those tiny scallops on the big scallops?!

Hope you're enjoying the lovely weather!

50 anniversary - card 7

Well I thought it was about time I drew my 50th anniversary card series to a close with the last of the cards that I made for a lovely couple a few months back.

Love Birds Anniversary

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Soft Suede, Versa Mark
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake
Punch: Bird Builder, Modern Label
Big Shot: Perfect Polka Dots, Designer Frames, Timeless Type Junior Alphabet
Accessories: Pearls
Extras: Gold Emboss Powder

So I used the bird punch to make the birds and the branch for them to sit on. I thought it worked better having the branch curving up the side of the oval frame. It looks like the birds are sitting in a little nest! I embossed polka dots in the background for some added texture and stamped the sentiment on a modern label punch below the birds. I didn't really think that a "50" would work here so I opted to add the 50 inside the card instead!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing lots of pretty 50th anniversary cards recently. I've got a couple more orders to do so I will be digging out my neutrals and gold embossing powder again this week! How fun!

Happy Stampin',

creative elements

Just a quick little post today with a card I made using the Creative Elements stamp set that I borrowed from Rhoda while she was down last month.

Hello

Stamp Set: Creative Elements
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Concord Crush
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder
Accessories: Pearls

A really simple card here, I stamped the flourish and then coloured it in so it would stand out a bit more. The flower was stamped and cut out in gradually smaller layered and then layered on top of one another for a more 3D effect. I used my own handwriting for the sentiment in the label and added a few pearls for decoration.

Thanks for popping by,

Have a wonderful Monday!

vintage style medallion

Another of the stamps I've been eyeing up in the catalogue for ages is the Medallion background stamp, so when Rhoda came down I asked to borrow it. I thought I'd show you one of the creations that I came up with using it...

Medallion Congratulations

Stamp Set: Medallion, Curly Cute, French Foliage
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Vellum Paper
Punch: Boho Blossoms
Accessories: Pearls
Extras: Champagne Shimmer

I stamped the medallion in the background and then using a combination of soft suede ink (stamping off for a lighter shade) and champagne shimmer paint  to stamp some water drop marks over the background to add a subtle glittery texture. I stamped the sentiment on vellum and wrapped it around the card. Finally I added some punched flowers and pearls for a bit of a colour punch and voila!

Hope you enjoyed this vintagy type card.

simply stampin' challenge #60

Simply Stampin' time again guys. This week we are back to a theme challenge once again. And the theme is...

Monochrome with a Splash

When I saw this challenge in the list I thought of yay that sounds like fun, and I had loads of ideas. Then when I actually sat down to make the card all my ideas seemed to abandon me and nothing seemed to work.

Vellum Doilies

Stamp Set: Delicate Dolies, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Versa Mark
Cardstock: Wisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Velum Paper
Big Shot: Edgelits
Punch: 1 3/4" Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Modern Label
Accessories: Pearls
Extras: White Emboss Powder, White Gel Pen

I was thinking about this "lace" card I made for a SSC a little while ago and thought I'd try to do another vellum lace type card. I stamped the doilies all over the vellum and embossed with white embossing powder. I cut out a frame in my card and inserted the vellum. For my "splash" added some elegant eggplant as a doily and for the sentiment. To balance it out I also added a few strips of edgelits near the bottom quarter and a sliver of elegant eggplant cardstock. I added white and eggplant faux stitching and pearls to finish it off.

What did you think? I hope you enjoyed it and will join in the challenge over at the SSC blog. Thanks for stopping by!

addicted to baker's twine??

Now, the new mini catalogue is just crammed full of lovely new stamps, ribbon, punches, paper and of course the score board but I think the product I am most excited about is the Baker's Twine! For those of you who don't know me, I have developed an obsession with baker's twine - I've seen so many projects on the internet using it and I've been LONGING (as my long suffering customers well know) for Stampin' Up! to bring out some baker's twine for us over here! And now we have 6 fantastic colours!

Baker's twine is a mixture of white and coloured threads twisted together to make up a pretty twine that can be used for wrapping around cards, gifts and so much more.

What I love about it is that its got colour which is thin and subtle that won't detract from the main focal point. Its also really inexpensive at £2.50 for 22.9 metres of the stuff which means that you can wrap it several times around a card or gift guilt free!!!

So, I've been having great fun playing with the twine and have some projects using it to show you over the next few days. Today I thought I'd really go all out and use baker's twine as the main theme of my card...

Entwined in Baker's Twine

Stamp Set: Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Lucky Limeade
Cardstock: Whisper White
Big Shot: Lots of Tags
Punch: Modern Label
Twine: Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Calypso Coral
Accessories: Rhinestones
Extras: Simply Scored, Lime Green Sharpie

I wrapped the baker's twine around the whisper white cardstock in bands of colour - I thought that wrapping the twine around white cardstock would really help make the coloured strand running through the twine pop! I made a simple scored frame on my whisper white card base for the twine to sit inside. On top of that I layered up a few tag/label punches, again in white with limeade of the sentiment and for a little glitz I added some rhinestones which had been coloured with a lime permanent marker. And that's the card folks. I love it - definitely a subtle card but a great way to showcase the lovely baker's twine!

So are you lovin' baker's twine too? I really hope you are and if you haven't tried it yet, go on...its only a couple pounds for a whole lot of joy and goodness!

Happy Stampin',

a little princess...

As any faithful blog readers will know I am on the Design Team for Simply Stampin' Challenge. So when time came for finding new DT members or renewing I decided to try out again, I'm having so much fun and learning lots! Below is the 'inspiration' photo that was issued for us to create around.

Isn't it just adorable?! I had so many ideas - look at those medallions! And cupcakes? Pompoms! Fairy tale castle!? Everything is so cute! Well here is what I came up with and earned me another 6 months on the DT...

Princess Tower

Stamp Set: Borderlines, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Pear Pizzazz
Big Shot: Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Blossom Party
Punch: Curly Label, Scallop Trim Border, Itty Bitty
Accessories: Pearls

I stamped the vines all over the background of the carstock and punched a border along the top. I then added a smaller piece of cardstock with a curly label hole in it - cute window right?! and more vines. On top of that is a triangle as a tower top. The card has really been brought to life with lots of these cute little flowers, butterflies and a multitude of pearls! Below the scallop trim I added some little banners.

What do you think to the card then? How does it measure up to the inspiration photo? I really enjoyed making this card - definitely got to go to a special little girlie now!

Stamp Set: Up, Up & Away
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Pool Party, Old Olive
Punch: Cupcake, 1 3/8" Circle, Scallop Circle
Big Shot: Square Lattice

You know what, I'm not sure this really needs any explanation. I hope you enjoyed this short and sweet little post today, I'll be back tomorrow with another little creation for you all!

Have a fantastic day!

cup of thanks...

Today's card reminds me of my room after a stampin' party - cups and mugs everywhere! Well who can craft without a cup of tea?! Anyway, on to today's card.

Cup of Thanks

Stamp Set: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Peach Parfait, Perfect Plum, Basic Black
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Marina Mist, Peach Parfait
Punch: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border

A really colourful card for you today - thought the teacups needed a bit of spicing up! I think they look like the odd 'vintage' tea cups you see around these days! Each cup was cut out and then they were stacked. I added some of the flowers to one of the cups...yes they make cute flower pots too! I used some of the ribbon border punch for a ledge and finished off with a cup of thanks sentiment.

So did you like this sweet tea cup of a card?

Thanks for stopping by,

simply stampin' challenge #59

Wow its Saturday again! How time is flying! So Saturday means is Simply Stampin' Challenge time again.  This week's challenge is a colour challenge...

Thank You Circles

Stamp Set: Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Island Indigo, Real Red, Regal Rose
Cardstock: Whisper White
Punch: Itty Bitty, 3/4" Circle, Curly Label
Accessories: Island Indigo Designer Printed Brad

I've gone with a nice clean and simple card this week - hmm I seem to be doing quite a lot of CAS lately! So this CAS card really shows off the fun patterns in the circles and also this fab colour combo! Its definitely not colours I would have personally put together and I was slightly sceptical when I saw the list but my goodness it works!! Its punchy and vibrant and very fun!

I hope you enjoyed this week's creation and I look forward to seeing your creations using this fab colour combo over at the Simply Stampin' blog!

Why not leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

more romance...

So I think that the Twitterpated product suit has got to be my favourite in the new summer mini - at least at the moment it is! So I thought I'd share with you another card I made recently using some of the new goodies!

Just for You Flowers

Stamp Set: Bordering on Romance, Tea Shoppe
Ink: Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black, Island Indigo
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Basic Grey, Whisper White
DSP: Twitterpated
Big Shot: Framelits, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Elegant Bouquet Emboss
Ribbon: Pear Pizzazz Pleated Satin
Accessories: Rhinestones

I found a card on pinterest which was similar to this so I started with the basic layout and came up with this beaut! The background is embossed with the elegant bouquet embossing folder. Now to the side of that is some of the pretty twitterpated paper, scallop edgelit and some of the gorg satin pleated ribbon. I used the new framelits to cut out the flowers from Bordering on Romance set and added a banner with my sentiment on it. This card wouldn't be complete without a bit of bling!

So do you love all the new stuff in the new mini catalogue?! What's your favourite?

50 anniversary - card 6

I thought I'd show you yet another of the anniversary cards I made recently. Are you getting bored yet?!

Polka Dot 50 Bow

Stamp Set:
Ink: Versa Mark
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Big Shot: Alphabet Simple Numbers, Perfect Polka Dots
Ribbon: Very Vanilla Satin
Extras: Gold Emboss Powder

So I embossed the card with the polka dot embossing folder and then added some of the lovely satin ribbon to the card. I wanted to keep everything very clean and monochrome so the textures and gold 50 and sentiment would really stand out!

Hope you enjoyed seeing another anniversary card today! Hope you are all having a great day!

tea anyone?

Another new set in the mini catalogue is called Tea Shoppe. Yep, you guessed it, its choc full of gorgeous vintage tea cups!

Today's card is a CASE of a card my friend Vicky made. I haven't really changed it much just added a flower and pearl to one of my teacups.

Suit me to a Tea

Stamp Set: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Marina Mist, Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink
Cardstock: Whisper White, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink
Punch: Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border, itty bitty
Accessories: Pearls

This stamp is three cups in a row so I used the markers to colour in the tea cups different colours and then stamped them close to the bottom of the card. I punched the dotted scallop ribbon border punch and then sliced it in halp for an even thinner and more delicate strip. . I stamped the sentiment below, punched a flower and added a pearl to the centre. I just wanted to show you that  a card doesn't have to have every inch of the card covered in patterned paper, stamps, ribbon and accessories. Sometimes clean and simple cards are just as beautiful!

Hope you liked this super quick and simple card!

Happy Craftin',

up, up and away!

I thought I'd show you one of the new sets in the Summer Mini. Its called Up, Up & Away - basically its really fun hot air balloons. I just LOVE it!

So this is the make and take we made at my preview party last Monday!

No Limit!

Stamp Set: Up, Up & Away
Ink: Pool Party, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Pool Party, Whisper White, Lucky Limeade
Big Shot: Adorning Accents
Punch: 1" Circle
Accessories: Pool Party Baker's Twine

We started with stamping the birds and clouds in the background. Next we had a go using the adorning accents with the big shot - first to cut the curvy edge and then to emboss the co-ordinating curvy edge - doesn't it make a fab "hill"?! Everything was adhered together. The balloons were stamped in Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder and Calypso Coral using some of the different patterns available, they were cut out and adhered with dimensionals to the card. To finish it off stamp the sentiment, punch it out and add some baker's twine. I am SO totally loving this baker's twine at the moment - such a great addition to cards and SO inexpensive too!!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing these hot air balloons! I am certainly enjoying them a lot!! Why not leave me a comment and let me know what you think?!

Thanks for popping by,

'twitterpated' owls

I am super duper excited!! One of my good friends (and bridesmaid) got engaged last Sunday! I am so happy for her!

Anyway, an engagement means I needed to make a lovely and special card for them to say congrats!

This card actually came from a card I pinned recently on Pinterest - it was two owls in a cluster of leaves and some hearts. I just loved how the owls had their eyes closed, if you want to see the original card I pinned you can see it here

Engagement "In Love" Owls

Stamp Set: For My Family
Ink: Basic Black, Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Riding Hood Red, Basic Grey, Sahara Sand, Peach Parfait
DSP: Twitterpated
Punch: Owl Builder
Big Shot: Lots of Tags, Little Leaves

Uh this doesn't really need any explaining. Its cute owls. I think the closed eyes enhance their cute "in love"ness!

Hope you enjoyed today's exciting little share! Join me tomorrow for some more creative inspiration!

simply stampin' challenge 58

Good morning!

Simply Stampin' time again. This week's challenge is a a sketch, you ready to see it?!

And now on to my creation...

Boutique Thanks

Stamp Set: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Crumb Cake
DSP: Attic Boutique
Big Shot: Fun Flowers, Adorning Accents Edgelit & Impressions
Punches: 5 Petal Flower, Boho Blossoms, Corner Rounder
Accessories: Pool Party Designer Printed Brad
Thread: Pool Party Baker's Twine
Extras: Simply Scored

So first off I kind of flipped the sketch around a bit. It wasn't that I couldn't make it work how it was but I wanted to use a piece of crumb cake that had a random score line in it and I thought I'd incorporate it into my design - especially that's what I'd intended to do for the vertical strip anyway! And if it meant I could use one of the MANY scraps I have then al the better! woohoo! Anyway, back to the card, I scored a couple more lines using the new Simply Scored scoring board by SU! (didn't realise how exciting this thing was til it came and I started playing with it - its freakin' wonderful!!!!) So I used the adorning accents to cut and emboss my horizontal strips for the bottom. I kept them in crumb cake because I wanted to make a real feature of the dsp! I'd decided I wanted to use some of the new Attic Boutique paper - love that pool party pattern at the back so I cut out and layered quite a few flowers and a pool party brad to match. I've kind of deviated from the sketch here as its not a boxy shape like on the sketch but it just didn't fit for me and hey a sketch is just a spring board really isn't it!?! So I finishd off this card with some pool party bakers twine at the bottom and the thanks from Tea Shoppe.

What do you think to this card? Aren't you just LOVING all the new stuff?!! Look forward to reading your comments.

Happy Stampin',

happiness is sharing....

Just thought I'd show you a card that I made with one of the sets (Happiness Shared) that Rhoda lent me last month. Its a set that I have been eyeing up in the catalogue for quite a while, its very pretty! Unfortunately there's so many beautiful sets that its impossible to have everything - this is just one of the many I wish I had but haven't got around to getting yet!

Rose Friend

Stamp Set: Happiness Shared, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz, Lucky Limeade, Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, So Saffron, Peach Parfait, Basic Black
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke, Pear Pizzazz
Punch: Decorative Label, Modern Label
Accessories: Pearls

A nice simple card with some colouring in. I then cut out all the little bits and layered it on top of a decorative label punch as a frame. I added a frame of Always Artichoke around the outside of the decorative label punch, I think it adds a nice touch! I used the leaf to decorate the background - my owl patterned paper if you will - it breaks up really large areas of colour nicely! I finally added a modern label punch with my sentiment, some more leaves and some pearls!

Hope you liked this little share today! Why not leave me a comment and let me know what you think?!

50th anniversary - card 5

I thought it was about time I showed you another of the 50th anniversary cards I was working on a month or so ago. Here's the one I made for myself to give the happy couple!

50th anniversary flower flurry

Stamp Set: Everything Eleanor

Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake
Punch: Boho Blossoms, Itty Bitty
Big Shot: Timeless Type Junior Alphabet
Accessories: Pearls
Extras: Gold Emboss Powder, Champagne Shimmer Mist

Nothing massively ground breaking here, gold embossed and cut numbers in the frame from Everything Eleanor. I then added loads of little flowers and pearls. And finally some shimmer mist to to give it that shimmer sparkle!

Hope you enjoyed it, why not leave me a comment?!

twitterpated with the new summer mini!

Yesterday the Summer Mini catalogue was released! Its got so many gorgeous things in it! If you haven't checked it out yet you can view it here. If you want to place an order please get in touch with me!

Today I thought I'd show you some of the new Twitterpated designer paper available in the mini.

Twitterpaper "Quilt"

Stamp Set: n/a
Cardstock: Whisper White, Basic Grey, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red
DSP: Twitterpated
Punch: Postage Stamp (Spring Mini - no longer avail. Try Curly Label, Square/Scallop Square instead), Boho Blossoms, Itty Bitty, Beautiful Wings
Ribbon: Baja Breeze Satin Pleated, Whisper White Baker's Twine
Accessories: Twitterpated Buttons, Pearls

So this is a great way to show off loads of the gorgeous patterns in this new paper. I did a "quilt" effect with the postage stamp squares. Then I added a little decoration to each square to bling it up! The button is one of the new twitterpated buttons in the mini which co-ordinate with the paper - they're small and very sweet! The pleated satin ribbon is also new - comes in Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride - I love that you can add a tiny bit of it for detail and it still has a beautiful effect!

Happy Stampin',
