Spring Blossom

Hello!

We are enjoying another day of beautiful blue skies and sun! Its still quite chilly but I love seeing the sun - doesn't it just make the world a better place?!

Today's card is using the Freshly Made sketch. Its pretty simple but after a little bit of deliberation I just knew what I wanted to make!

I've been enjoying all the blossom on the trees these past few weeks! It hasn't been too windy around here so the blossom has really stuck around which is just lovely! I love driving or walking along and seeing fluffy pink and white trees. They look like big balls of candy floss! So I thought I'd do a little spray of blossom....

Stamp Set: Gently Falling, Petite Petals, Happy Day
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals, So Saffron, Crushed Curry
Punch: Petite Petals, Itty Bitty
Embellishments: Pearls

I wanted to create a very clean and fresh card So decided to stamp the leaves and flowers on white rather than coloured cardstock. I find that coloured card can look a little heavy and the colour can be more intense so to soften the colours I simply stamped them on the white.

I know the Gently Falling set is designed for Autumn but I think it makes gorgeous leaves in Spring and Summer too! If I can get more use out of a stamp set, I'm pleased!

I thought that as the leaves had 2 layers of stamping it would be a good idea for the blossoms to also have the same. I 'd noticed that there were two stamps in the Petite Petals set that were very similar to the Gently Falling so it seemed the perfect match. I love the co-ordination you get between different stamp sets with Stampin' Up!

I felt that the centres needed some yellow and some pearls too just for a bit of an elegant pop! I also Love the little smattering of pearls across the card too!

Have a beautiful day!

Simple Sunday - Masculine Leaves

Hi there!

Great news! My camera is all fixed! Yay! Can't wait to start using it again!

I have a simple Sunday card for you today. I made this little number for Stuart's Pap. I thought seeing as its getting into spring now around here - there are a few trees budding and showing leaves now that I could do a bit of a spring time leaf card. I know the Gently Falling set is designed to be a Autumnal set but there's no reason it can't be used for Spring and Summer too!

Stamp Set: Gently Falling, Remembering Your Birthday
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White

Yep this one is dead simple - I just stamped off the leaf on either side of the centre leaf for a lighter tone on tone effect and stamped a sentiment in the centre.

I love using white/vanilla as a matt instead of the usual coloured matt but haven't done it for a while so was glad to give that one a go. The white really stands put amongst all that green and just pops.

I really had to restrain myself from adding other things to this card. I did toy with the idea of adding buttons or linen thread to the card but it just didn't quite look right, plus I kept seeing Stuart's disproving face, in my mind, that I was adding "girly" things to a man card! (He has to approve all man cards in this house! If I get 'the look' I know it needs changing!)

Have a great rest of your weekend! Catch you again tomorrow!

Happy Stampin',
