Hi!

I'm back today with a Freshly Made Sketch. I actually struggled with this sketch for quite a while - sometimes when you've got too much choice its difficult just going of something with confidence!

Stamp Set: Hello Lovely, Happy Day

Ink: Crushed Curry, Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Versamark

Cardstock: Basic Black, Tempting Turquoise

DSP: Kaleidoscope

Embellishments: Brights Candy Dots

Other: White Embossing Powder, White Gel Pen, Zig Zag Paper Trimmer Blade

I'm actually really liking this card....now. It took quite a while - I must've repositioned those striped pieces of DSP about 10 times! I got them in the wrong order so the stripes didn't line up - they were pretty well stuck down  so removing them was not an easy task. Eventually they got there though. I purposely chose a paper that looked so fun and dramatic but also really quite scary to use - its very in your face! The white lines around the edge is a great way of making a faux layer and is such a simple way of just adding a little something to the card! 

I debated about what to add on top of this background - I knew I wanted a strong pop of colour. I finally pulled out a stamp set I got at convention and just haven't played around with much. I also decided to keep the sentiment monochrome so it would blend with the background and not distract from the colourful elements. The candy dots seemed to finish it off nicely adding little dots of colour around the card to balance it. 

I'm super happy with the end result - it would make a very funky masculine card! I always need those!!

Mosaic Marble CQC227

Hello! 

Happy weekend!! What do you have planned this weekend? I have quite a quiet one. I'm going to have a coffee and catch up with an old uni friend this afternoon! I haven't see her since uni despite living in the same town, and when I saw her choosing a tree with her hubby just before Christmas we reconnected! Looking forward to catching up this afternoon! 

I've got a card I made today with this week's Colour Q challenge colour palette.

I thought it was pretty obvious to do something Valentine's related with this colour combo and seeing as us Brits aren't so into Valentine's as our cousins across the pond. So you might be getting tired seeing all these Valentines cards I've been showing off, therefore I decided to try using the colour combo with the stamp set Hello Lovely we got given at Convention.

Stamp Set: Hello Lovely

Ink: Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler

Cardstock: Whisper White,Cherry Cobbler

Paper Trimmer: Scallop Edge 

There are a lot of great "mosaic" stamps in this set but I just fell in love with this one - reminds me of marbles! I seem to like the tumbling theme at the moment - its just so easy and looks fun, plus it doesn't matter too much where you stamp! 

I just wasn't happy with the finished card and pondered chopping off a portion of it to make it a bit more narrow, in the end I just cut off a piece from the front and added some scallop trim. I stamped more mosaic marbles on the inside edge and voila, much improved! 

Hope you enjoyed this fun card - I love that you could switch up the colour combo and you'd get a totally different looking card - how about pool party, pear pizzazz, bermuda bay and island indigo for a more masculine colour theme? If you thought the swirly marble like stamp was too feminine there are plenty of other more geomtric shapes to choose from in the Hello Lovely set!

Frosted Scattered Embossing Technique & Video!

Happy Friday folks!! 

Are you looking forward to the weekend? I certainly am! Breakfast tomorrow with two of my besties, chilling out with my lovely and very hardworking hubby followed by lunch out at his aunt and uncle's on Sunday. Really looking forward to it! 

As promised (and I really hoped to have done this earlier this week)  here is a card and video on the frosted scattered embossing technique I showed you earlier this week on the card I made for the Paper Player's and also SU Only challenges!

DSP: Venetian Romance

Big Shot: Petals a Penty

Punch: Bitty Butterfly, Banner (SAB)

Trimmer: Scallop

Accessories: Gold Baker's Twine, Pearls

I really love this card! I bought the petals a plenty folder a while ago but haven't really used it as the pattern was very compacted, now I've created a way to be more versatile with the folder. Love it!

I've explained pretty much everything in the video so sit back and enjoy! (Sorry I rather got my hand in the way of embossing, its so hard to see at such a distance so I don't get my head in the way...I hope you get the general idea!)

Anyday Sweet Sayings

Hello again! 

As promised I'm back today with some super simple, quick and easy to make cards using the Sweet Sayings notecards. They're cute and great to have on hand or throw together quickly for an emergency card.

Likewise these are also quick clean & simple cards using the Hello Lovely set. I'm super pleased with these two and can see myself making a few more, perhaps with a couple more variations added in too and bundling them together to make a pretty little notecard set as a gift. 

This final little note card is using a stamp from the Lots of Thanks stamp set which has lots of lovely thank you sentiments in it. Perfect!

I hope you enjoyed this super quick little post today. I'm sorry its been so quick, I've been struggling with a migraine the last couple days and my to-do list is getting longer by the minute so I am off to accomplish some of those items and hopefully shorten the dreaded list!
