twitterpated rag wreath

I wanted to show you something a little bit different today. Its a rag wreath that I made for my friend Jo for her birthday! I found the idea on Pinterest, there was a stunning green one by Kristol which I pinned and just found myself coming back to again and again. When I won a free pack of the Twitterpated fabric at a Stampin' Up! training day I just knew I had to use some to make a wreath! 

It was so super simple to make, I used a piece of wire to make the circular frame but an old wire coat hanger would work just the same. I cut the fabrics into strips, about 2 inches wide by 6 inches long. Then all that I had to do was tie them onto the frame. I did it fairly randomly but tried to alternate between the 3 patterns! I finished it off with a Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain bow and another length to hang it by!

wreath class

I have been meaning to put up a photo for a week or so now of the flower wreath that I made for this month's class - so you could see what the lovely class girlies had fun making and what you all missed out on! Finally I got around to photographing it and uploading it for you all to see! It was super fun making it and the girls that came to the class really seemed to enjoy making it! 

Ink: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, So Saffron, Peach Parfait

Cardstock: Whisper White, Very Vanilla, So Saffron, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz, Wild Wasabi

Punches: Owl Builder, Blossom Builder, Itty Bitty, Circle (Various Sizes)

Big Shot: Blossom Party die, Little Leaves Sizzlit

Ribbon: Wild Wasabi Striped Grosgrain

Extras: Sponges, Polystyrene Wreath

How gorgeous is that?! I love mine and have it hanging in my living room on the door - our wall is painted in Wild Wasabi so it fits in really nicely!

If you missed out and would like to create something lovely for your house why not come long to March's class and make some pretty bunting (to die for!!!) using the pennants die and big shot! I will upload a photo of my bunting beginning of next week for you all to see!

sammy's birthday

Good Morning folks! 

A really quick post for you today - busy weekend and all that! It was my friend Sammy's birthday on Thursday so Kat and I took her out for the day. We had some lovely paninis for lunch and then went to a ceramics cafe to paint something. Its crazily addictive! So here is Sammy's birthday card.

Stamp Set: Everything Eleanor, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink: Wild Wasabi, Early Espresso

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi

Ribbon: Rich Razleberry Striped Grosgrain (Retired), Very Vanilla Taffeta

Punches: 1 3/8" Circle, Itty Bitty

Accessories: Pearls, Brights Brads

So I stamped the flourish in the background and then added some of the striped grosgrain ribbon - I tied a bit of the taffeta ribbon to break up the shape a bit. I then made a rather 3D flower with the Everyday Elegance DSP, added it just under the ribbon and then added a few more smaller flowers with the Itty Bitty punch. I stamped the sentiment and did dashed stitching around the edge of the Wild Wasabi before adhering it to the Vanilla cardbase. To finish it off I added a few little pearls!

happy surprises

I had a lovely little surprise in the post on Friday! It was really sweet so I thought I would just share it with you all! It was from my Stampin' Up grandma, Amanda.

She sent me this sweet little bracelet. She sends every demo one when they get their first downline and promote to Bronze 3! It comes with 3 beads on it, one is a dragonfly, her trademark and one that says love on it and the third one is for the first member of the downline. Then whenever you get a new member in your downline she sends you another bead for your bracelet! Its really sweet of her, and here it is, complete with packaging and card...

I hope you enjoyed seeing today's little share! The card is just gorgeous and so cheerful! Love it!

I love any excuse for making something but sometimes it can seem too easy to just stick to making cards. Cards are great, they bring lots of joy and happiness to a lot of people but its fun to make other things with paper crafting too, right? Right! Well this week's entry is actually something I saw on a TV show when I was in the States a month ago and what we shall be making as our 3D item at my class next Saturday.
