March Card Class

Hey there!

This morning I jumped back into my first card class. It was a weird mixture of immense excitement to be able to craft with my friends again and fear that everything might go wrong. In the end though we all had a thoroughly enjoyable morning and they all left very happy with their beautiful creations. It always amazes me how each person's cards look so different from the same starting off point! Here's a sneaky peek at my room all ready and waiting for their arrivals this morning...

My plan is that each month's class results in 4 cards focusing on a technique/product or sometimes a theme. This month we did an ink blending technique using sponge daubers. And here are the 4 cards we all had a go at making using the ink blending technique. I love how fresh and clean and happy they all are! 

Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing each of these cards and the technique in more detail. I'm also intending to make some videos to share on my youtube channel, the first of which will be of this ink blending technique.

march class...its all about the bunting!

As promised here is a taster of the gorgeous bunting you can make if you come along to my class this month! 

I have made mine to hang in my craft room - its really pretty and springy and will bring a smile to my face when I'm working in there! 

You wil be free to decorate your bunting however you choose - how about some HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CONGRATULATIONS, named bunting or simply just pretty flowers & butterflies... and these are just a few ideas for starters! I hope you will join me for an afternoon/evening of crafting, chatting, tea and cake! Its only £13.50 - bargain for something you can use time and time again.

I have been meaning to put up a photo for a week or so now of the flower wreath that I made for this month's class - so you could see what the lovely class girlies had fun making and what you all missed out on! Finally I got around to photographing it and uploading it for you all to see! It was super fun making it and the girls that came to the class really seemed to enjoy making it!

How gorgeous is that?! I love mine and have it hanging in my living room on the door - our wall is painted in Wild Wasabi so it fits in really nicely!

If you missed out and would like to create something lovely for your house why not come long to March's class and make some pretty bunting (to die for!!!) using the pennants die and big shot! I will upload a photo of my bunting beginning of next week for you all to see!

Just a sneak peek of a few of the projects we will be doing at the Decorate for Christmas class on October 15th and 19th. These samples use the previous and now retired Jolly holiday DSP, we will be using the really gorgeous new Holly Berry Bouquet Speciality in this month's class!

We will be making several quick and simple yet stunning tree decorations (great for decorating the home or to give as gifts) Also a wonderful mini patterned paper Christmas tree which makes the perfect mantel piece decoration or table centre piece. 

In addition to all this I will have plenty of other inspirational Christmassy projects to get your creative juices get going for the upcoming festive season!

Prepare for the holiday season by stamping a stack of 10 Christmas cards for ONLY £10! What a bargain - you would never buy handmade cards this cheap in a store AND you have the joy of crafting them all yourself!

Continue with the festive fun with another set of 10 Christmas cards for ONLY £10! These two evenings will include a variety of sizes and complexities including several flat mail friendly cards!

 Muffin Tin Advent Calendar 

A few of you may have seen my reusable muffin tin advent calendar made using a 24 hole muffin tin, if you haven't its a must see (and make!) You won't want to miss this class! 

This advent calendar is an in-depth project and will be the main focus of the class, however if there is extra time we will be making some lovely and quick Christmas cards and tags! 

(If you don't own a metal 24 hole muffin tin and would like me to order one in for you - as I am ordering a some of a few others already booked onto the class - please let me know when you book your place. Cost is £13 in addition to regular class cost of £13.50. If you already own one that you are happy to use please bring it it along with you!)

Saturday 3rd December 

2012 Scrapbook Photo Calendar 

If you are a keen scrapbooker or are a scrapping virgin this is a lovely addition to your home. Prepare for 2012 by decorating your own calendar using various scrapbooking, stamping techniques and designer paper. For this class you will need to bring along 12 (or more if you wish) photographs you would like to incorporate into this scrapbook style 2012 calendar - at least one for every month. 

Cost is £13.50.

I hope I have not given you too much to digest at once. I understand that we are coming up to a really busy time of the year and therefore wish to give you as much notice as possible for all of my upcoming events. I really hope you will join me at these classes and evenings.

awesome august

A few days ago was my August class. This month's class focused on punches! I love punches so to do a class on punches was just so much fun!! Here are the project we did...

Flutter Away Butterfly

A cute card using the stencilling technique. To finish it off we added a fe punched butterflies out, this made it look like the butterflies were flying off the page! 

Flower Box

This was the main project we focused on this time as it involved rock and roll, glittery, glossy butterflies, gorgeous rolled roses, and fluffy 3D flowers!

so swirly in july with class

Today was my July class. I had four lovely ladies and we all had such a great time together! I have to say I really love my classes, not only do I get to wow my attendees with fab projects and products from Stampin' Up but I get to have a really good time crafting with some lovely people. It is such a pleasure getting to know so many new people and a joy to see how every one's projects turn out so differently and so fabulously! 

Now onto this month's class. This month we used the Jumbo wheel. We were also going to use the builder wheel but we just ran out of time and to really get into it, it needs some more time so it will be added into a future class instead! This is the card we made using the So Swirly jumbo wheel!

The other techniques we focused on this month was decorating chip board! We all decorated our chip board using two techniques, covering with designer paper and inking! Its amazing how easy it is to bring chip board to life and how professional it looks! And by decorating it yourself you can  make them co-ordinate perfectly with whatever project you are working on! We added our chip board to the 3D project we made with was a baking sheet message board! 

This is one that I did a few weeks ago for a Simply Stampin' Challenge, I did another today during my class using the Oh Sew paper... GORGEOUS!!!! I will upload photos of that message board later this week! 

The message board makes a great home accessory - personalise to fit in with your home/office/kitchen décor. It also makes an extremely affordable but gorgeous little gift! In the current economical climate everyone is looking for ways to save and with a project like this, they cost next to nothing!

I love any excuse for making something but sometimes it can seem too easy to just stick to making cards. Cards are great, they bring lots of joy and happiness to a lot of people but its fun to make other things with paper crafting too, right? Right! Well this week's entry is actually something I saw on a TV show when I was in the States a month ago and what we shall be making as our 3D item at my class next Saturday. marvellous may class fun!

My first class is over and it was fab! There were 5 lovely ladies that joined me today, and I couldn't have been happier with how it went, apart from perhaps the few moments where I got totally tongue tied but hey ho that happens to everyone, we live and learn! So, I really enjoyed it and from what I can gather, everyone seemed to have a great time too! It makes me so happy to see others getting enjoyment out of creating a card or other project and its such a blessing to be able to share my passion with others! Its actually what gets me out of bed in the morning...love it!


 And now I would like to show you what we did, and if you didn't make it, what you missed out on!

This was an BIG hit...its so much fun to make a interactive card and everyone really did go ooh and ahh when they saw it cascade!

I gave everyone freedom to create whatever they wanted on their candle! They turned out beautifully and clearly showed each person's individual taste and flare!

floral brooch

I'm still here! After a busy week of posts everyday last week I haven't much to share at the moment, I have been busy getting all my projects ready for my May and June classes (I have some very exciting and cute projects in store so please do book your place and come along - I'm sure you won't regret it!) As a result of class planning, I haven't had much time to play (I want my class projects to be a bit of a surprise so look out for postings after my class!) 

I scoured my photo archives today just to see if there was anything I hadn't yet shared that I could put up for you all to see and I found this cute little rosette! I saw this a few weeks ago on the lovely and talented Amanda Fowler's blog, to see her tutorial on how to make them see here.

Ribbon Rosette 

Stamp Set: N/A

Cardstock: Melon Mambo

Ink: N/A

Accessories: Satin Ribbon (non SU - I wish SU sold bright pink - melon mambo - coloured satin ribbon!!!), Basic Rhinestones 

Extras: 1 3/8" Circle Punch

I cut slits in the ribbon at intervals and rounded the corners then using the heat tool heated the ribbon until it began to curl and melt a bit. When I was satisfied I covered a piece of cardstock in SNAIL and began winding and sticking the ribbon to the cardstock to form a rosette. After a while, when I was finally happy with it I cut off the excess and added a bunch of different sized rhinestones to the centre to finish it off! 

Its so gorgeous, I makes a perfect brooch or even a lovely little accent for a card!!! 

Stuart and I are going away to Chester for a couple days, using our wedding present from his brother Richard and cousin Andrew which was a afternoon tea for two and overnight stay at this fancy hotel. Looking forward to relaxing and getting away from it all for a bit and spending some quality time with my lovely hubby...I'm a little nervous leaving all my creative things at home and no access to them 'till Friday night...I'm well and truly an addict!!! Seriously I am! EEK!! 

Finally, I just want to let you know I have another workshop scheduled for Friday May 6th at mine at 7:30pm so please do come along! I'd love to see you there!

another successful workshop and a general update

Ok, so just to fill you in on the last few days, on Thursday I went over to another demonstrator's house in Northampton (because she found me on the demo finder and we thought it would be lovely to meet up and share some ideas with each other! and have some crafty play) It was so great to meet her and spend some time with another Stampin' Up! demo, that's the sad thing about having an upline that lives in Shetland! Anyway, Vicky was super lovely...and she let me play with her Big Shot!!! *Gasp* It is such a dream to use! I loved it so much and its so great all the materials you can run through it! It would be fab to cut out a load of different shapes that can then be layered on top of one another. I cut out a bunch of different little shapes so I can play at home, I intend to have a go next week and then I shall upload some photos of things I did! (Now, I cannot wait 'till my birthday in August to get my own Big Shot...but I shall be patient!)

Friday I had the day off, my friend Donna came over, I cooked a great Chinese feast - Spring Rolls, Vegetable & Noodle Stirfry, Chicken & Cashew Stirfry, Beef in Oyster Sauce, and Sweet and Sour Pork! It was SO yummy!! My hubby doesn't eat Chinese so I have to take advantage of times like these when I have friends over and just go all out...at least now I have lots of nice left overs to munch on! So we sat and ate our feast and watched Confessions of a Shopaholic...such a funny film! Unfortunately the only downside to yesterday was a rather sore throat and feeling a bit on the unwell side! 

Today I woke at the crazy early time of 7:30am after a bad nights sleep. My throat was worse, I felt awful and I had a workshop later today! I almost thought I wasn't going to make it! Thank goodness for Lemsips! I dosed myself up on Lemsip and made it to Ally's workshop! Despite my croaky voice and feeling under the weather, it went really well! I met some new people which was great (I hope I was sociable enough) and got to catch up with old friends and acquaintances! I'm so glad that my workshops are going so well, its so encouraging and I am really looking forward to running my classes soon! I already have one person signed up for my class on May 21st! It is so encouraging to see all the interest I am receiving at the moment! Thanks for everyone that has supported/supporting me in what I am doing at the moment!

a further classes update!

Just to update you all on my plans to hold a class, and outline again, exactly what these classes will entail. 


Each class will last for roughly 3 hours and I am intending to run them on the third Saturday of every month at my home from 11am 'till 2pm. 


Cost for the class will be about £12 and it will be payable on the day. This cost includes all the materials you will need to make several projects, my time and expertise, instructions for you to take away with you - so you can easily do the project/technique again at home, plus lots of tea and cake! 


As I said previously there won't be any commitment to come every month but if you do wish to come, you will need to book your place as I will have limited spaces! 


Each class will focus on 2-3 different techniques plus a 3d item! Samples will be made in swap format (ie a card front). Classes will discuss techniques outside of those scheduled and will also cover suggestions for layouts and designs.  


I will post the techniques and details of the 3d item for that month's class at the beginning of each month, alternatively, come along to my class for a sneak peek into the following month's class. 


Please do spread the word and you are most welcome to bring a friend along! The more of you there are, the better it will become! 


Any personal orders made during a class will not contribute towards the cost of a class.


Finally, with all this in mind, taking into consideration the business of April and Easter, and also giving myself enough time to promote and plan, I would like to announce that my first class will be held on Saturday May 21st from 11am - 2pm! 


Side Note - This will be my last activity for a few weeks as I am then heading off to the States to see family and friends and attend my cousin's wedding (very excited!)!  I will be back early to mid June - I'm waiting for my US passport to return with my name change so still have not booked my tickets! EEK! I will announce dates I will be unavailable for workshops or to place orders when I have booked my flights! I fully intend to be back, planned and ready to go for June's class on the 18th!

workshops, classes and clubs

Tonight was my workshop, it went really well, although as always when I demonstrate my clear stamps decided they didn't want to work for me and kept falling off the clear block! I had little love hearts dotted all the way down my card, but I don't think anyone minded too much! You have to just laugh it off don't you?! Besides from that, I had a great time and I hope they all enjoyed it too! I really am enjoying doing the workshops, its a lot less scary than I thought it would be and it is such a joy to share my passion with others! Also its great to get to know new people and see a whole different side of people that I already know too!


Workshops: So far I have one workshop scheduled at my house in April. This workshop is on Friday April 15th at 7:30pm. Please do get in touch if you would like more details about it or would like to host your own workshop! I would love to come and show you and your friends the gorgeous products Stampin' Up! has to offer and show you all how easy it is to create really beautiful designs! I have 2 workshops that others are hosting next month too which I am VERY excited about! I am delighted to be showing heat embossing, stampin' pastels, blender pens, two step stamping with a stamp-a-ma-jig and more! If you would like to see these techniques too, come along to my April workshop or book your own! I'd love to show you too! 
I know it is a little busy next month with Easter and the Royal Wedding but I hope you will find time to relax and do something creative! 


Classes/Clubs: Secondly, I am really excited to tell you that I am intending on starting up some sort of a class/club really soon! It is only in the initial thought process and planning stage at the moment but I hope to hold my first one in the near future! 
I am intending on holding them once a month in my home and while there will be no commitment to attend every month, places will be limited and therefore if you would like to come you will need to book your place! 
Each class will involve making several projects, including a 3d item. For this, there will be a fee (price is still to be decided - probably somewhere around the £10 mark) to cover the cost of materials used. As a class differs from a workshop each guest will get to make all the projects I demonstrate instead of the usual one simple 'make and take' typically done in a workshop.
It is a great way to relax and unwind and get to "play" with more of Stampin' Up!'s products before purchasing anything and also learning how to get the most out of the products you already have! Plus, I will be on hand to help if you have any questions, which is always good if you're trying out a new technique!

I'm sure everyone is glad it is the weekend, I certainly am! Its been a very busy week and I'm looking forward to some cleaning, tidying and hanging out in the garden enjoying the gorgeous spring weather with my husband tomorrow.
