new catalogue!

I am so excited!! The new catalogue was released on Saturday and it is just jam packed full of awesome new stuff! You can view the catalogue online here, alternatively come along to my launch party on Friday 7th October at 7:30pm to see the catalogue, some of the new products and have a play! Today, I'd like to share with you a card  I made for Stuart's cousin, Abi, whose birthday it was yesterday!

Sweet Sixteen Icecream

Stamp Set: Pennant Parade

Ink: Soft Suede, Real Red

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White

DSP: Just Add Cake

Accessories: Real Red Brads

Punches: Pennant

Extras: Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

This is using a new stamp set called Pennant Parade, designed for making bunting on your paper crafting creations, however it has lots of other uses too for example a Christmas tree and today I made mine into a icecream cone. We have been having so much lovely warm weather I decided that ice cream wasn't too far out an idea for a October birthday card. I hand wrote the sentiment as I don't have anything for a 16 year old.

simply stampin' challenge, week 27

Hi there!

Man I am behind with so much! My computer is still a nightmare and as a result making it difficult to use and I just haven't the patience to blog most of the time with the way my computer has been. However I have missed the last couple weeks of Simply Stampin' Challenge and I have to say I've missed it, so I just HAD to bear with my computer to upload this week's entry!

This week's challenge was a theme: Swirls and Pearls. It sounds so glamorous doesn't it?!

Stamp Set: Delicate Doilies, Basic Phrases (retired as of yesterday!)

Ink: Frost White Shimmer Paint, Cherry Cobbler

Cardstock: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler

Accessories: Whisper White Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls

I got asked to make a Ruby Wedding card this week and I thought it would go lovely with the theme Swirls and Pearls. Also a great excuse to get out my NEW stamp set - Delicate Doilies!! Just love it!!So i stamped the background with doilies in the shimmer paint, added some ribbon and LOADS of pearls!!! Finally added a sentiment to finish off the card!

update!

Okay so I have been enormously bad recently with the Simply Stampin' Challenges recently. I have been really busy trying to reorganise my craft room - a total tip at the moment as the contents of my cupboard is EVERYWHERE on account that dad put in some shelves for my massive fabric boxes this week. (Exciting but also a HUGE mess!!)

Also been trying to keep on top of making things, and doing swaps for regional training (it was today - and totally AWESOME!) and on top of that my laptop is having majoy issues. Its been developing dead lines in places for a couple months - irritating but not enough to stop me using it normally. Until this week - Oh my goodness - I now have a 2 inch chunk right down the centre that is totally black and dead - its frustrating the life out of me!!!! Not to mention its temperamental internet connection.

As a result I am saddened to say card/craft blogging is pretty much on hault til I get a new laptop (hopefully soon!!) Sorry for my serious lack of craftyness. I am sad I have nothing to share, actually I have loads to share but the inability to share it without loosing a large proportion of my sanity! On the plus side when I do get a working laptop you will have so much to see its going to be like Christmas come early!!! :D

In the mean time send me a link to your blog - I would love to see what you have been getting up to! Its always great to see what other people have been making, swap ideas etc.

simply stampin' challenge, week 24

I'm back! Well to tell you the truth I never went away, I have just had an intensely busy week filled with last chance parties, classes and my dad decided that this week would be a good time to come put put up the shelves in my cupboard for all my boxes of fabric - they look fab now though and it means I can collect all my fabric from my parents' house! YAY! But the fabric had better watch out...there's a Big Shot on the loose!!

Anyway on to this week's Simply Stampin' Challenge. This week is a theme, and the theme is...

So a super quick and simple card this week. I was having fun running things through my Big Shot, firstly to see what it could all cut through and secondly to make samples for class! We just bought a book case for our landing (another job we've been doing the past week!!) and it came wrapped in this thin packing foam. Its kind of glisteny and a but shimmerly so I thought it might make a cool accent for a card. It was also very see through so I thought that would be cool. I kept the card simple to highlight the texture of the packing foam.

So last night Stampin' Up! released their greatly anticipated Last Chance List - a list of all the products which will be retiring at the end of the month to make way for more new and exciting things in the new catalogue on October 1st! simply stampin' challenge, week 22

This week's challenge is a Sketch! With no further introduction, because its VERY late, I haven't packed yet and I'm off on holiday in the morning, here is the sketch and card for this week! 

Hello Autumnal Flowers

Stamp Set: Basic Phrases, Greenhouse Garden

Ink: Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Versamark

Cardstock: Sahara Sand, More Mustard, Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Pearls

Extras: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Paper Piercer, Mat Pack, Corner Rounder

Very simple, I stamped three flowers in the background overlapping one another, and then stamped and embossed some more flowers, cut them out. I did a long line of piercer dots along side the 3 flowers and then added the embossed flowers over top. Lastly I stamped the sentiment, added some pearls and rounded the corners!

more stencilling!

Following the stencilling we did at class on Saturday I thought I would show you another stencilled card! It really didnt take very long to do and the brilliant thing about stencilling is they make very cheap, lightweight and uber flat cards - ideal for the post!

Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue, Because I Care (Hostess Only)

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso

Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Early Espresso

Punches: 1 3/4" Circle, Scallop Edge, Corner Rounder

Extras: Copy Paper, Sponge

I punched out the circle and lined up the copy paper with the cardstock and sponged in so I had the circle shape. Before I removed the mask I stamped on the floral flourish from Vintage Vogue, the stamp was wider than the circle so by leaving the mask on it masked off the edges too leaving a nice clean and simple decorative circle. I then added the sentiment below and as I hadn't quite got my circle positioned in the centre I added some scallop edging to balance up the card. Finally I rounded the top left corner to mimic the curves in the circle and scallop edge!
